If you have something to carry on the bus to/from school check with the bus operator first.

Washington State Transportation Regulations designate the Bus Operator as having the final
authority when working with passengers and passenger safety.

WHEN TRAVELING TO GAMES, FIELD TRIPS, OR OTHER ACTIVITIES:

It is the Districts policy to have a chaperone or coach on buses going on extra curricular runs
to supervise students and keep bus rules. It is also the responsibility of bus operators to follow
district, state, D.O.T., and federal laws.
Before leaving the operator will: Establish an acceptable noise level, give instructions regarding food/drinks, keeping the bus clean, cleaning the bus at the end of the trip, instruct passengers on how to use emergency exits, and advise at least one adult what to do in an emergency.
Passengers are not to change clothes on the bus or wear shoes with any type of cleats.
Do not block aisles, windows, or emergency exits. Use emergency exits only for emergencies.
When decorating buses check with the operator for safety guidelines. Do not cover any part of a window, door, or emergency exit. Use only “easy release brand masking tape”. Students decorating a bus are responsible for removing decorations and cleanup after the trip.
In an emergency at an event (student injured during a game, etc.) a bus operator may at his or
her discretion transport students if the operator assumes responsibility and labiality.

IMPORTANT: Students who cannot follow bus guidelines will go through the following disciplinary steps:

FIRST TICKET: Warning from the Principal.
SECOND TICKET: Warning from Principal & a call home.
THIRD TICKET: 3 TO 5 days (or more) suspension from all buses.
