RCW 17.21.415
The Department Of Agriculture and Federal pesticides laws direct Royal
School District to establish and provide a pesticide notification plan:
All students, teachers, staff, and parents are to be notified at the beginning
of each school year as to the district policy when using pesticides, notification
procedures, and how to contact someone in the grounds department with questions
relating to pesticide use within the school district.
Students, teachers, staff, and individuals starting after the initial notification
outlined below need to be provided the same information as part of the employment
and orientation process.
In order to be in compliance we need to have a notification process in place following State guidelines as shown below:
1. Students Notification:
Include with student orientation at the beginning of each school year.
Include with student orientation for those starting after the initial notification
process.
2. Parent/Garden Notification:
Include when registering students for school.
Include when registering students starting school after the initial notification
process.
Where necessary: Notification with flyers proved to students to take home.
3. Instructional Notification:
Include in orientation and planning meetings at the beginning of each school
year.
Include as part of the employment process.
May notify by in house mailing to instructors at the beginning of the year.
4. Staff Notification:
Include in orientation and planning meetings at the beginning of each school
year.
Include as part of the employment process.
May notify by in house mailing to staff at the beginning of the year.
5. Post district pesticide policies/procedures on our web site.
6. The notification process will be updated as new procedures or guidelines
occur.
