Business EducationThe business education department is designed to provide students tthe opportunity to develop skills that will be useful in their lives after high school. Students can choose from a wide array of courses ranging from Digital Communications to Accounting. Digital Communications is a class that explores the basic function and uses of several computer programs. Students first lear how to type and associate themselves with the keyboard. From there students learn how to write letters, reports, memos, etc. on Microsoft Word, create graphs and charts on Microsoft Excel, and prepare presentations on Microsoft Powerpoint. Office User Specialist builds on the knowledge from Digital Communications by introducing more complex concepts. The class is broken down into two classes: Office User Specialist I and Office User Specialist II. Office User Specialist I allows students to learn how to use more features from the previous Microsoft programs. Office User Specialist II has students learn how to design web pages and apply that in formatting web pages from Royal High School's websites. Accounting provides the students with the basic principles of accounting. Students learn how accounts operate, how to write in account forms, etc. This class benefits those who wish to pursue a career in accounting or a related career.
